With iOS 11, Apple’s iPhones can now routinely silence all notifications and alerts when the telephone determines you are driving — to maintain you centered on the highway.

Now, Google is cribbing that helpful characteristic for the brand new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

The brand new Pixel Ambient Providers app, which can come preinstalled on Google’s newest flagships, contains the characteristic — although it is off by default. You will must allow it within the Do Not Disturb settings earlier than it begins checking to see in the event you’re driving.
