For a horror soundtrack, Stranger Issues 2 feels very… productive. The rhythmic synths don’t evoke a Lovecraftian monster a lot as a gently churning supercomputer. This makes for a terrific soundtrack to your work day. Cue it up on Spotify and get within the zone.
The 71-minute album wavers between bouncy and meditative tracks, all synth-based and lyric-free. You may wish to skip tracks 10, 15, and 23, which get too menacing—except you wish to scare your self into hitting a deadline.
My different favourite soundtracks for the workday are Beasts of the Southern Wild, Philip Glass’s Powaqqatsi, and Mark Mothersbaugh’s work on any Wes Anderson movie. What are yours?
